After Ganesh Naik raises question in assembly, CIDCO sends Turbhe-Kharghar tunnel proposal to state

CIDCO has sent the proposal of implementing the Kharghar-Turbhe tunnel road to the state government for approval. The proposed tunnel will provide direct connectivity between Turbhe in Navi Mumbai and Kharghar International Corporate Park. Earlier, during the state assembly session in March, Airoli MLA Ganesh Naik had raised the concern of impending traffic snarls that would occur once the construction of the fourth bridge at Vashi creek was completed and had highlighted the need for a tunnel at Turbhe-Kharghar to address this issue. According to CIDCO, the road will be 5.49 km long with a tunnel of 1.763 km and will have four lanes. The project is estimated at a cost of Rs 450 crores.
