Former Minister & Airoli MLA Ganesh Naik’s meeting with NMMC Commissioner Abhijit Bangar touched several important issues of the city including the civic body’s failed pre-monsoon work. Top five issues taken up by him were: 1. Ganesh Naik urged the administration to take the precautionary measures for rising cases of COVID. 2. He asked the commissioner to take stock of the pre-monsoon cleaning work of nullahs done in the city and called on the administration to carry out fumigation activities to control the spread the diseases during this time. 3. He said that NMMC should meet with MSEDC and discuss the issue of open cables & open transformers which had even claimed a life. 4. He said that ward officers must step out of their offices to take stock of on ground issues during monsoons, especially of those slum dwellers which were located near to nullahs. 5. On the lines of the cleaning work done of the Belpaur holding pond, Ganesh Naik also demanded that NMMC should focus on cleaning the other holding ponds in the city too.
