During the meeting of former Minister & Airoli MLA Ganesh Naik with the NMMC Commissioner, former NMMC Standing Committee Chairperson Netra Shirke and former Opposition Leader Dashrath Bhagat expressed anger that instead of handing over plots to NMMC for public utility and amenities, CIDCO is commercialising the sale by doing ‘change of use’ of the plots. They protesting corporators said that the city needs plots for gardens, playgrounds and hospitals. Speaking to the media, Ganesh Naik said, "The issue must be addressed and CIDCO should be stopped for doing this politically pioneered sale of plot. I will take this up in the monsoon session of the assembly."
