While NMMC is carrying out pre-monsoon works in the city, the issue of Vashi's holding pond remains the same and could lead to a flood like situation in the area during heavy rainfall. 1. Former Minister & Airoli MLA Ganesh Naik had demanded that a generator be installed at the Vashi pump house to tackle any flood like situation in the city. 2. Heeding to his demand, NMMC has now installed a 1000 KVA diesel generator at the pump house which will handle water logging during power failures in monsoons.
