Navi Mumbai has earned the tag of Flamingo City due to its significance as a habitat for the vibrant pink birds which flock to the city's creek shores in large numbers annually. One of the popular spots is the lake near NRI Complex in Seawoods. However, concerns arose when water flow to the lake was obstructed, potentially deterring the flamingos from visiting.
Taking note of this grave concern, Former Minister & Airoli MLA Ganesh Naik inspected the creek area, giving directives to the officials to immediately restore the water flow to the lake. Speaking to the media, he emphasized the need for conserving the water body to ensure that the lake continues to be host to these migratory birds.
