One of the top discussions at Former Minister & Airoli MLA Ganesh Naik's meet with NMMC Commissioner Abhijit Bangar was that of cleaning holding ponds in the city. Having taken up the issue for months, Dr Jayaji Nath had lost his temper and said, "Except for suicide I don’t think you will take this issue seriously". 1. Paying heed to his concerns, NMMC has started work on the holding pond. MLA Ganesh Naik visited the site at Belapur to inspect the work. Present along with him were former MP Dr. Sanjeev Naik, former Mayors Sudhakar Sonawane and Sagar Naik among others. 2. NMMC engineer Sanjay Desai was also present who informed that along with increasing the pumping capacity of the pond, they were also seeking permission from MCZMA for cleaning of the pond. 3. Ganesh Naik said that Dr. Jayaji Nath's aggressive stand forced NMMC to start work on the holding pond.
