Tempers flared as an absolutely "angry" Ganesh Naik blasted NMMC officials who are constantly failing to conduct their duties in the interest of citizens. Raising several issues that show the falling standards of NMMC works & rise in corruption; Airoli MLA Ganesh Naik advised NMMC Chief Abhijit Bangar, "Do not let some 'nalayak' (unworthy) officials malign your image." Ganesh Naik lost his cool over several issues that included: 1) Ensuring citizens of Navi Mumbai can access Airoli Katai elevated road 2) COVID preparedness in wake of Omicron variant and cases rising in Navi Mumbai. 3) Preparing a plan for vaccination of children between age group of 15 years to 18 years from Jan 3. 4) Schools were closed for more than a year and their maintenance is at an all-time low. NMMC must draft a plan to ensure schools follow sanitisation and hygiene protocols as campuses welcome students back to classrooms. 5) Despite Collector Offices’ approval of utilising MLA funds; NMMC officials are spending money from general funds. Have demanded MLA funds of Ganesh Naik be used.
