Former Minister & Airoli MLA Ganesh Naik has ensured to take up every issue of Navi Mumbai during the on-going budget session. Speaking in context to slum redevelopment plans on MIDC land; Ganesh Naik demanded that the slum-dwellers must be made owners of their land. Maharashtra Housing Minister Jitendra Awhad agreed to the demand while also accepting Ganesh Naik's another demand. That of ensuring that "cheaters & looters" do not fool or exploit anyone in the slum redevelopment plans. Navi Mumbai is home to several slum areas; where local politicians & slumlords are getting involved in slum redevelopment plans.
