Maha Monsoon Session: Ganesh Naik emphasizes commitment to mangrove protection and eco-tourism

During the Question Hour of the Monsoon Session, key questions regarding mangrove surveys and the development of mangrove eco-tourism zones were raised. Responding to these, Forest Minister Ganesh Naik reaffirmed that both the Central and State governments are highly sensitive towards mangrove conservation. He stated that:

  • A comprehensive survey of mangrove areas is currently underway.

  • Preserving ecological balance and protecting mangrove zones remains a core responsibility of the government.

  • Regular workshops are conducted to create awareness and build capacity around mangrove conservation.

In response to related concerns raised by MLA Nana Patole, Ganesh Naik assured that the government will present its stance clearly before the Central Government. He also expressed confidence that the state’s position will be represented effectively through appropriate channels, including a writ petition if necessary.
