Maha Monsoon Session: Ganesh Naik to lead efforts on balanced approach to Nag Panchami worship ban

During the Monsoon Session of the Maharashtra Legislature, MLA Satyajit Deshmukh raised a Calling Attention motion regarding the long-standing ban on the worship of live snakes during the Nag Panchami festival in Shirala.

In light of this, Forest Minister Ganesh Naik has taken initiative to convene a meeting with the Union Environment Minister in Delhi. The purpose is to request the Central Government to take a sensitive and balanced stand before the Supreme Court—one that safeguards religious sentiments while also ensuring no harm to wildlife.
