The Shiv Sena run NMMC during the peak of the pandemic had come up with a proposal to install CCTV cameras across Navi Mumbai at a cost of Rs. 271 Crore. 1. Sensing one of the biggest multi-Crore scam brewing in the proposal; former Minister & Airoli MLA Ganesh Naik & former Mayor J D Sutar took NMMC head on in the proposal and Commissioner Abhijit Bangar was compelled to revise the proposal. This has saved 100 Crores of the tax payers money in the latest proposal. 2. The work of installing 1500 CCTV cameras have been given to TATA and the BJP has said they will monitor the project camera-to-camera to ensure its transparent and free of corruption. 3. The Shiv Sena led civic bodies in Mumbai and Thane are notorious for innumerable multi-Crore scams from tax payers money.
