One of the top discussions that had taken place during Former Minister & Airoli MLA Ganesh Naik's meets with NMMC was that of cleaning holding ponds in the city. Former corporator Dr. Jayaji had even threatened suicide as NMMC had failed to do anything despite months of follow-ups by him. Airoli's First MLA Sandeep Naik had also reprimanded the administration stating that relevant works were being neglected by NMMC. However, following an aggressive stand by Ganesh Naik, Sandeep Naik and Dr. Jayaji Nath, NMMC had carried out cleaning work of the holding pond, which was even inspected by Ganesh Naik. Traders at Belapur, who were most affected with water-logging here, paid gratitude to Ganesh Naik during the latter's Navratri mandal visit.
